STARGAZING HIKE

Vicky Derksen and the Sonoran Conservancy of Fountain Hills have partnered to offer stargazing hikes each month. Vicky helps hikers identify constellations and planets while sharing cultural star stories from around the world. Hikes begin at the Adero Trailhead with telescope viewing in the parking lot at the end of the hike. Registration is required (and FREE), and space is limited. CLICK HERE to register.

Our member, Dennis Robertson, is giving a fun talk at the Community Center, and all are invited. Dennis is a NASA Solar System ambassador and will be sharing about objects that visit our planet from space. The presentation includes a review of planetary impacts from asteroids and comets, NASA’s scientific missions to asteroids, and NASA’s involvement in Planetary Defense. Ted Blank presents a journey back in time to the first few hundred million years after the Big Bang as he shares the recent observations of the James Webb Space Telescope. These observations have upended the current models of the evolution of the Universe, rewriting its history. The presentation will be at the Fountain Hills Community Center at 13001 N.
