Our Dark Sky Association attended the Volunteer and Activities EXPO sharing our passion for dark skies with other volunteers and community members. Co-chairs Nancy and Joe Bill staffed the table and said, “We had a great number of people stop by and ask what the Dark Sky Association was all about. It was a great opportunity to educate people about correlated color temperature (CCT) and smart lighting practices. When we turned on a high CCT light, people without exception understood how that kind of outdoor lighting creates glare and could really annoy neighbors. The whole experience reaffirmed the importance of educating the community about new lighting technologies.
